If MB is registered within the security centre then it becomes the default anti malware program & disables Defender.
Glad to see the problem appears resolved.
And it was apparently turned on by default. No indication that it turns off Defender, that I can find. Thanks so much for sticking with me on this. If the problem resurfaces, I'll be back.
