Selecting shutdown computer starts downloading updates and warns "Do not shut power off". Upon completion of downloads computer won't finish shutdown and I have to force shutdown. Restart is normal.
I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 in Feb. This is the 3rd update since the upgrade and the result has been the same each time; shutdown won't complete after download is complete and I have to force the shutdown, startup is normal finishing the update.
My W10 is a 64 bit, Home Version 1909

Hi Hare,

I would try a reset which may solve the problem?, you may well have to install your apps but keep your data intact when you check the right box!:

To install several apps at once, go to the following link and select what you want:

I'm not ready to do that. W10 is operating normally other than that. The next time I have an update I'm going to select update/restart instead of shutdown and see if that allows a normal shutdown/restart.

Try this to assist MS and do remember that many updates require A Reboot to finish... and depends on how long or fragmented your OS is as to how long it takes MS to update properly and then reboot to give new OS
