I have two Microsoft email accounts, which I “collect” with mail. When I am away from my computer - often these days, I can, of course, still collect online with my mobile or Ipad

I have the same dillema. I scarcely use word now, and certainly not excel and the others. Mail is rather slim but does all the neccesaries
Yeah....it's a toss up. I've been playing around with WPS, solely for a word document as I really don't care for note pad. I found WPS free riddled with adverts...so that's out. On to Libre Office and Open Office. I could just use MS online word.....but there are times that I'm not connected to the net and need a decent word document platform.

Did you give WordPad a try? It's a 'lite' version of Word, just doesn't have all bells and whistles of Word. NotePad is not a word processor, only a text editor quite useful for programmers and learning to create HTML Web pages.

Yes....That's what I'm using right now. I thought I mentioned that in a post above.

Guess I missed it. Not seeing as well as used to, doc says I have 20-30 right eye and 20-70 left eye, referring for cataract removal.

I feel you pain my brother. I'm in the same boat. I've got the beginning stages of cataracts as well as glaucoma. On top of that I have what they call Iritis which leads to macular degeneration. So with that crap....I have floaters sticking to my lenses.....so it's like wearing 2 pair of sunglasses and looking through a light fog.....all the fn time. Top that off with any kind of bright light is excruciating pain. Doc says I'm half blind and need my lenses replaced.....even then the doc is not sure if that will fix it. 50/50.

I can't see my wife and kids faces anymore......watching TV is just like listening to the radio. I just see shapes go across the screen. I have an assortment of readers to help me out....from 1.5 to 3.5. I can't keep up with what pair is what anymore. Sad part of all this is; I'm only 54.

Good luck on your surgery....I hope it goes well for you. Will be praying for you!

Friday the doc showed all the pictures of things you described, quite revealing of possible issues. Prayers are with you. Turned 80 just after Christmas.
