I started on a British partly assembled Acorn Atom in 1979. It had 2 K of RAM! It was ample. The OS was in fixed ROM, it being necessary to plug in a ROM for each application, one slot only. It was called "Sideways ROM". Truly wonderful. The company is now called "ARM", the World's biggest maker of chips especially for mobile phones. "Mighty oaks from little acorns grow". (Geoffrey Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde, 1374.)Bill Gates once said "Nobody should require anymore than 64K" I wonder if he still truly believes that. LOL
