I thought that windows updated automatically but guess i will just keep on top of that from now on!
hmm very strange, when i restarted in safe mode it all looked the same as normal.
Again thanks for all your help.

i have the same issue, I can't upload anything file to Gmail, GDrive, or on my web server. I wonder why. I run window 10 and i have window defender. I have flash for youtube installed. is that why? I am using Google Chrome
