i got the same crash issue when entering digits. i read somewhere where u can tweak it by selecting all cell( or click topleft greybox) and go to format>cells>alignment>horizontal=center. it works, as long as it is 'center' text alignment cell format

Excel is working now, I suspect a Defender updated was the culprit.
