Build 14901 Rs2

here is a thing about 14901. MS say that the first few RS2 build will contain nothing new and exciting just internal stuff. Well I have found one.

My trusty Kobo e-reader worked perfectly before the Anni edition but after that Windows would not recognize it and say it needed to be formatted and it would no format it ( quite correctly in my view). So just as an experiment I plugged it into my 14901 insider PC and Windows told me the 'disk' needed reapar and it would scan and repair. Took 30 seconds to do that and then Windows said 'disk scanned nothing to repair' and there it was in file explorer all working fine. So either Anni edition has a bug or 14901 has an improvement to it. I won't even bother to guess but i'll try again after the next cumulative to 14393.

I went back to 14393.51. I do not want to go thru this every build that comes out.

I can certainly understand that, but.....
It's the price we pay for participating in the Insider Program. Maybe dropping to the Slow Ring might alleviate some of the aggravation.

I went back to 14901 as it really is more stable.

OR.... not.
I'll prep the ISO for the new build when it arrives..... just in case.

Here is one I haven't seen before. 14901. Click on start and click on settings. Windows update works but clicking on any of the other and they just disappear. New today after I had plugged in an unrecognized device on USB and tried to get Windows to find it. This machine had a completely fresh build and those 2 insider updates .67 and 14901. This machine is a laptop and rather difficult to remove the battery ( have to pry the case apart. with a spludger)

I found out why I was having a problem and then went back to 14901.

Start works fine for me with everything.
