I am using an HP Laptop running Win 10. I have five external drives on USB. Three SSD's. One hard drive in an external enclosure and one USB HD.
The External HD is in a powered enclosure that has a power switch. I sometimes forget to turn it on. Then when I backup my image files to a flash drive Windows has reassigned the flash drive to the drive letter that was used by external HD that is turned off. Does anyone out there know how to freeze the drive assigned letters from being changed automatically by the OS?
