Should Windows Defender scan every time?

Should windows defender scan everytime you start your computer and should it send notifications?. It use to, but not
anymore?.

It should only help if you want to run it more often. I will reboot my computer every day and run it. Then make sure the computer is running at normal speeds. If you notice any behavior different while running any program in the computer first check to see if any updates are being installed or needs to be installed. Then run windows defender but off line and on safe Mode. I don’t think is really necessary but only Microsoft can give you the proper answer. Make sure you have your own virus scanner program too such as Norton or whichever you like.
