Should my system disk have Volume Shadow Copy Service(VSS) enabled.

My system disk has Volume Shadow Copy Service(VSS) enabled.

I don't do anything with the disk other that store and read files.

Should VSS be enabled?

If not, how to disable it?

Comment will be appreciated!

Yes, I believe it should be left to run.
It is a component that is used for the native backup utility, and....
I believe as part of the System Protection environment (System Restore) and I believe that in some instances even third party backup software rely on the native VSS to assist in their backup regimen.
