I have some old minidvds created by a camcorder. I am trying to import them into a video editing program. In the old days, you just copy the .vob files to the pc and rename them with a .mpeg extension.

Windows 10 lets me rename the name of the video file but not the .vob to .mpeg extension.

Is there some setting in Windows 10 that lets you rename file extensions?

First make sure that you are not hiding file extensions of known types by opening file explorer and then selecting the "View" tab from the menu bar.

That will hopefully expose the file extension and allow you to select it when editing.
