Preview Build 19042.388 (20H2)

JULY 14, 2020 10:54 AM today we’re releasing 20H2 Build 19042.388 (KB4565503) to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel.

How do I get this? I have been on the Fast ring for a long time but I would like to experience programs that work for a change, so I set my insider to Beta but get nothing except that ridiculous cumulative update that tries to update every time and never works. Is it that hard to write some code that allows the user to stop those attempts and then proceeds to download the wanted Beta?

I don't believe that you can simply go from fast ring back to slow.
Being in the Dev Ring your machine wouldn't see something from the Beta Ring as an update / upgrade.
I believe you'll have to go back to the consumer version and then rejoin the machine to the Inside Preview Program , choosing Slow / Beta as they haven't offered an ISO for anything in the 19042 flighting.

I was afraid of that. A clean install would lose a lot that I need on my computer so I guess I will stick it out for a while longer. Thanks

You can do a "REG HACK" to change from 19041 to 19042. and honestly that is about the only change. the difference is "NULL"

So far the 19042 is running, however this update I did not get offered, although I tried it several times. Now I am updating manually...

lets hope it was not offered due to MS bad codding, like 20170. and AMD failures, and some intel systems had major issues with 19042.338.
