I was under the impression that the Fall update was KB4041994 was 16299.15 and the piggy back cumulative update KB4043961 brought the current version up to 16299.19.

I didn't verify the KB numbers but my experience on 4 computers the last 2 days is exactly that.

I checked the history and yes, you are both correct..the "19" update sneaks in as I was rebooting..on the blue boot screen it said it found updates and may take several minutes...this I am assuming was the jump to 19 from 15....I thinko_O
"Who's on first"??..

I've installed the .19 update on 4 computers in the last 2 days.

UPDATE: I've gotten the x86 version [about 100MB] from the Windows Update Catalog but it took somewhat longer and using IE11 instead of Edge to get the x64 version [about 250MB].

Yep....right after you download it and install it....there are 2 cumulative updates that need to be installed. KB4049179 and KB4043961 and then 1 "other" update - KB890830. Which is very ODD!

Already broke on release date.....FN crazy!

Wellll!.......after all this time of downloading and upgrading and nary a single problem.. today on my daily driver HP after downloading the MCT, burning an ISO and installing, what seemed to be going ticketty boo soon turned to "what the hell"??
After the blue screen installation page, it was at 19% and all of a sudden in rebooted to "Restoring you previous version of Windows" on a black screen.
I'm hoping this ain't gonna be a problem!..
Please weight in!..the Scotch is on me!
@Trouble..do you know Greek??
Here's the error message, which is Greek to me.

I've installed the Upgrade to Version 1709 with Build 16299.15 then got the only update listed for Build 16299.19 which is quite small, less than 250MB for x64 and about 100MB for x86. The only updates I'm being offered now are for Adobe Flash and Windows Defender.

It has been available for a couple of days. But I read that several members are still waiting.

Thanks Dave I got the updates on Tuesday, I meant to say does anyone know when the MCT will have the ISO 1709 available.

I believe that the Media Creation Tool is currently generating an ISO that is Version 1709 build 16299.15 and you would then need to run Windows Update to get from there to 16299.19

That's exactly the way it worked on 4 computers I've done last 2 days.

For slower 'net connections I've taken to getting the MCT USB download for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions on the same 8GB Thumb Drive then using Windows Update Catalog get the Build updates for both. Can't do that last very often unless I change over to a 16GB drive as I have only about 800MB free on the 8GB.

KB4049179 is the Flash player update. MS had to do that due to a Zero day exploit.
KB4043961 is the CU to brings the new system from 16299.15 to 16299.19
KB890830 is IMHO the MSRT. that KB has not changed in decades.

I already have three pc's that do not want to update to the Fall Creators update. It starts with downloading 1% and stays that way for over 18 hours until I broke it off. I am hesitating to update my systems at all.
A fresh install however finished in about 25-30 minutes on outdated equipment

Sorry to pour salt in your wounds, Norton. Dunno what went wrong for you. It took me less than that with a 3gbs/s connection.

I know looks can be deceiving. But 1703 to 1709 looks to be an underwhelming update, just in the build number alone.
