Zip files

I am trying to save a small data file to either 'Documents' or 'My downloads', but the only file type available to save is zip file. The drop-down menu is empty of alternative options.

What program was used to create the file, it should show more than a .zip extension and more than likely not the .zip extension? File Explorer can compress files after they have been saved to the drive.

Try "save as" instead of save.... Windows defaults is a compressed zip file.
