I would really like Word to open with the default "Doc1" margins set to "Narrow". I've opened a new document, changed the margins to Narrow and then done a "Save as" and chosen "Macro-enabled DOTM" as the file type, closed Word, then copied the new "dotm" file to "normal.dotm" (after first deleting it from the "Roaming" folder. When I reopen Word, it still does not give me a document with the margins set to "Narrow". Any solutions?

See if this helps.

1. Open the Page Layout tab
2. From Margins drop-down
3. Select Narrow Margins first and then Custom Margins
4. Make any additional changes
5. When finished "Set As Default" (bottom-left button)

It may also help if you set "Apply to: This point forward".
