Word file

I have a Hp sff with Win 10 Pro Microsoft office 2003, I purchased a used latter model Hp sff win10 Pro and installed the same Microsoft Office pro 2003.
All the word files from the older PC were backed up and up loaded to the newer pc but when I tried to open them the file is in a code. See attachment.

The base issue is the version of Office, version 2007 was a file format change that can be identified by the letter x added to the file extension as in .docx. Office 2000, 2002/XP and 2003 require a Compatibility Pack be installed so as to work with the newer file format.

It appears that either your links are wrong or that I reached a fake download screen that attempts to grab my personal info, or that something else happened that I have not the foggiest idea about.

Just thought you'd like to know. I doubt that one can purchase MS Office 2021 Pro for Under $40.

Any ideas?

I just downloaded a fresh copy from filehippo.com, it's about 38MB.

I don't understand how a $200+ application can be had for $40, even if it is a 2021 version.

I just double-checked the link and saw that other apps such as Adobe PDF that cost around $200 new are offered for about $40 also. I'm thinking that those are pirated copies, but I might be wrong. (Wouldn't be the first time.)

It feels like that they sell only the key, not the software. The key is most likely a MSDN-key or something similar, that will be disabled after a while. I had a case like that years back with a key off of Ebay.
