Won't open pdf files.

I edit a community newsletter. Articles are emailed to me with pdf attachments. I either can't open the pdf file or it changes it to an"ini" instead of "pdf'"
The files are then store the one drive cloud or a one drive on my pc.
Did I get a bug?
Do I need to take me pc to a computer shop?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It should open automatically with the Edge browser, or, alternatively, any third party app with that option (Office, Acrobat etc..)
