Hello and welcome to the forum.
IS the account that you are using, to install the printer, a member of the local administrators group?
How old is the printer? How old is the driver disk you are trying to use?
What exactly is the model name and number of the printer you are trying to install?
Have you check the Manufacturer's website to see if they have an updated software / driver package that you can download and use instead of the disk?
Sounds like it may be attempting to use Kernel Mode drivers which are likely to be an issue, or....
You may have to run the setup program in compatibility mode to get it to work.
