Is ther any reason to buy an antivirus program instead of usunig Windows Defender?

If Defender is a good enough antivirus do I need additional protection?

Windows defender is good enough for the average user in my opinion. An additional AV program will not add additional protection as Windows Defender will be automatically deactivated.

I subcribed to Bitdefender which was able to get rid of Trojan as MSFT defender could not. Not expensive and well worth it

I was wondering that maybe there is non-virus malware not covered by Defender.
