For the time being I have given up on Windows 10 and gone back to my rock solid reliable Win7 Pro.
Why? Because, after 3 failed attempts to install Win10, I had to uninstall my Avast Premier to allow all the necessary Win10 files to get through. Win10 then installed O.K. So far, so good, or so I thought but, in addition to numerous pop-ups, some of which attempted to lock my browser until I had availed myself of their "services" (?), when I re-installed my Avast on Win10, and ran a Boot Time scan I was rewarded with over 1700 infected files!
Hence my reference to Jumblies. For those of you not familiar with Edward Lear's nonsense rhymes, what the Jumblies did was: -
They went to sea in a Sieve, they did,
In a Sieve they went to sea:
In spite of all their friends could say,
On a winter's morn, on a stormy day,
In a Sieve they went to sea!
I got the impression that Windows 10 is so full of holes I could think of nothing else with which to compare it.
My Avast is coming up for renewal, but if somebody could point me in the direction of a security suite that: -
a) Is totally reliable.
b) Runs on Both Win7 Pro and Win10 Pro and
c) Will allow a full proper installation of Win10 Pro
I could be persuaded to switch and have another go at the Win10 installation.
