Windows 10 suddenly slooooooowwwwwwws down

I'm running Windows 10 Pro on a Dell PC with 64 GB RAM. Yesterday it suddenly slowed way, way down. I also have scratchy audio. Any ideas?

Hi yoderde,

what version of Win 10 do you have?. Are you running an Anti Virus app like Kaspersky or Norton?, they can be resource hogs, do you have other apps running in the background?.

open task manager /details to view the memory hog.

The scratchy audio raises hairs, for me. Check out you battery and power connections. Also - All that Ram - make sure they are seated.

I have two laptops windows10 20H2 with latest build and they take forever to load Edge and other apps when first booted for the day.

Before that, what have you done to the computer,have you updated or upgraded Windows 10?
