Windows 10 on laptop very slow

my dell laptop with windows 10 is extremely slow. am minimal user. everything is cleaned out. internet connection speed is high..other people in house have no problem. had same issue with my last laptop, which was also a dell inspiron. any help would be appreciated

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Some specifics regarding the specs of the machine might help....
Processor in Ghz, amount of installed memory, available space remaining on the system partition???
Type of hard disk, SSD versus 5400 RPM spinner?
How old is the laptop?
Did the laptop come with Windows 10 pre-installed?
IF not... when and from what did you upgrade and which version including full build number of Windows 10 are you currently using?

And, are you connecting Ethernet or WiFi. What Antivirus are you running?


A silly question. If you are connecting WiFi are you connecting to your own network? Not impossible (but unlikely) to connect to someone else's slower network. I ask this as you say it was the same on your previous Inspiron.
