Windows 10 networked to Windows 8.1 issues

I have a windows 10 laptop and a windows 8.1 desktop that I am trying to connect to via homegroup or just basic networking. From the windows 8.1 I can't see the windows 10 but from the windows 10, I can view the files on the windows 8.1. I have tried redoing the homegroup. Have deleted windows credentials. Adjusted the group name to everyone and set the permissions to full access to no avail. I have set up networking before and had no issues but this is a first time with a windows 10 and windows8.1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
