Yes there is, You can go to recovery and create a disk. You also can do this using a Win 7 Recovery disk. I have done so in the past without any problems.

You can test your new disk to see if it will actually work when the time comes. Have your BIOS "load from disk" and insert your media disk first and then at the appropriate prompt load the recovery disk and view the result. If successful, you will rest easy knowing that you have a functioning backup.
If you never test it you will not know for sure.
