According to various Microsoft Windows affiliates websites, Windows 10 will be the last OS released by Microsoft. As Microsoft is taking a similar approach to Apple OS, and is only going to provide updates for Windows 10.

Also, July 29, 2016 will be the last day that the free Windows 10 upgrade will be available for free.

X is only a number, subsequent upgrades will end up bearing little resemblance to 10240.
