So far only solution is to power off and then on again.. and pc comes up and works again (so far...)

I've had a similar problem since I installed Win10, except my curser is not visible on the blank screen. Then after several minutes, the screen shows a lot of multi-colored garbage. I've checked memory, hardware and drivers. System logs show nothing. I have noticed that it tends to occur more often when I start to view a video, or go to a new website with a very complicated page. I checked memory to see if I have a problem there, but with 16 gigs available it's hard to imagine I'm close to running out. I always keep the system updated. I'm running Defender now, but I've used Malwarebytes, AVG, SuperAntiVirus, and Symantic in the past.

sounds much like a Bad Virus - but try this next time.
logo + R - type shutdown -r -t 0 then enter see what that does then after the reboot
Logo + R type msconfig --> move to boot click safe boot --> apply then reboot and you can now check to see if you have other issues

Also, you're running a pretty old version of Windows 10. Build 17763 is 1809 (Sept 2018). It really could be a lot of things. It could be the graphics driver crashing. It could be some sort of hardware failure. It could be a virus or malware, but I don't think so. Wouldn't be a bad idea to run a full virus scan and run malwarebytes.

current Info shows that his 17763 (1809) Last official update was 12-10-2019 so it should be upto date, and I would suggest a manufacture driver update, to all. devices....and if you think you need a full virus scan, suggest you open WinDefender and do a Full OffLine scan.
