Weird desktop and file icons

Somehow I got these weird desktop and file icons (local drives only). Virus scan turned up nothing. A deep CCleaner clean did not change anything (after reboot). Rebuilding iconcache didn't make any difference. The problem seems to affect .txt, .pdf, .gif and .jpg files only. Windows 10 Pro, version 20H2.

Can anyone tell me what's going on? Corruption?
