I visited the Microsoft Support web page, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/products/windows?os=windows-10 , when I was browsing. Now when I start up my laptop for some reason it starts my Chrome browser and goes directly to this page every time without me manually opening the browser. My power settings have hibernate turned off. System File Checker shows no problems. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Stellarplacebo

check in Task Manager > Startup and make sure Google Chrome isn't starting with the system, if it is, mark it and disable it.

Also check Settings > Apps > Default apps for your default browser settings!.

Thanks for the replies. It fixed itself after doing a defrag and shutting down and restarting a couple of times.

CUNL2, I too wish we could go back to simpler times like with Win2K. Anyway, I have to admit when things go wrong using Win10 it does seem like a lot of times it has a great ability to fix itself.

Thanks again.
