I'm upgrading a system from windowsXP to windows10 and as a result I will need to update some drivers to some peripheral cards/boards. I wish I could be more specific but I'm not aware of the details pertaining to the boards yet. All I know is that my windows 10 system will communicate with these various peripherals over a PCI to PCI interface. My drivers might as well interface with some Qt applications. I want to make sure that I can get by with the express "free" version.
From reading this page https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/on...tudio-community-edition-and-express-editions/ it tells me the two differences between the two editions. However, I'm confused on the terminology of Windows Apps versus Windows Desktop Apps. Therefore, I'm having a hard time making this decision as I would like to avoid having to buy the paid VS 2015 edition.
If you believe I should be ok with the "express" edition would you be so kind to elaborate on what potential problems "if any" I might run into and should be aware of.
