Uninstalling a program

I go to uninstall a program and It wont let me do it now. I wasn't using my computer for quite a few months, and after the upgrades etc. I'm not able to uninstall my program. It says something like a catastrophic fail because its missing a key uninstall file. Am I #1 in the right forum subdirectory and #2 has anyone heard of this?
