So using the search box in the task bar... it seems to be finding most of my stuff including programs but..!
How do I specify where to search? The default is not good enough to me.
And specifically my question goes down to the fact tat the taskbar search doesn't find elements e.g. on the desktop.

Any help?
Thanks

Hi first of what are you trying to find on desktop
Because to find anything on desktop you have to put it there via a shortcut
Then click on it with your cursor
Also on search button on taskbar I don't have one
I normally click the edge browser app which then takes me to Bing where I can type in and 99% out of 100% find what I want
Please explain more what you are trying to do
Like what do you want better

in a nutshell: I have a program on the desktop (putty.exe) I would like to call it using the search.
I can call programs like word/excel using the search because they are installed.
I can't call putty.exe because it's on the desktop and it's not installed as such.

Deos it make more sense now?

Yes is there anyway of installing it at all
Found this where you can download it
http://putty.software.informer.com/0.6/

Thanks I think I got to the conclusion myself, I might or might not want to install it, portable apps exist for a very specific reason. Regardless mine was more a generic question: how do I make the search indexing specific location (and excluding others)?

Thanks!
