1. I have run netplwiz to not require a user name or password

2. 95% of boot ups, boot into Windows 10 without asking for a user name or password

3. I do not have any local accounts

4. I only have my Microsoft account

5. And here are my questions

10% of boots, and I will see two accounts shown on bottom of Windows 10 login screen

Please see screenshot

What is this second account I am seeing in this screenshot ?

Why would I get a login screen on 10% of boot ups

How do I get rid of this second "account" when I have no local, no other accounts

Many thanks

First question.....
If you reverse what you did with netplwiz as mentioned above does the second account disappear from the login screen permanently?

The reason I ask, is because we saw this happen in earlier builds (insider previews) and is was a product of using netplwiz, which made the signin screen show two users that were actually or apparently duplicates of one another and now I'm wondering if a recent update has somehow resurrected this old behavior.

I appreciate your reply and will try your suggestion

However - it would seem that this second account which you see in the screenshot is not a duplicate as it does not authenticate with the password that the first account (which is the Microsoft account) uses

Interesting.
The details are very difficult to make out in the image you attached. I thought that they looked the same and were likely linked to a single MS Account.

What the image shows is:

1. The first user name (highlighted in the screenshot) is

the user name
email address (the Microsoft account email address in other words)

2. The second user name is just

the user name (and no email address below that name)

Thank you for the clarification, but.....
I'm still wondering if what you are seeing is a result of netplwiz and they are virtually or practically the same, although they appear different.
