SOLVED Some desktop shortcuts turn "generic"

This happens to me time over time.
I asked in various forums, unable to get a resolution.

Problem........................
Some of my website desktop shortcuts have turned "generic".
My default browser is IE11.
No, I do not have Chrome, FF installed. I do not like them at all. Least of all is Edge.

I have tried Refresh, clean browser cache including deleting browse history, Reset IE11.
None works.

What about your thumbnail cache?
Is it possible it needs to be reset? Possibly corrupt?

I'm now wondering if it works permanently or temporarily and they'll revert back.
