Slow laptop

After doing the Windows 10 updates last week, my laptop all of a sudden is extremely slow, freezes and runs out of memory. I'm , also, unable to access any of the apps within the control panel. How do I sort this out and get the performance up?

IF you could provide some specifics as to your laptop, perhaps someone with a similar computer might have some suggestions.
Manufacturer Name, Model Name, Model Number ( a link to the specific laptop's manufacturer's site).
Processor, Memory, GPU, etc., etc.

Try System Restore. If that doesn't work, run a deep scan with Defender and the free Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
