Sleep and hibernate problem?

When I set my PC to hibernate or sleep, it no longer works the way it used to.

It basically shuts down completely.

How can I fix this?

Can't speculate without knowing more about the PC, i.e. make, model, etc.

Check your setting and see if "Turn OFF HD after xx hrs is checked.

Just guessing but try pressing the power button while it is in sleep mode, it should spring back to life?.
