Skype on Windows 10

I just upgraded to Windows 10, and I'm having trouble using Skype. I downloaded Skype and it seemed to download OK, but I didn't get a Desktop ICON. I selected SKype in Start. The screen I get doesn't look anything like it did in the past. It says, Welcome, My Name (without ever prompting me to sign in), and has three "Groups" - 1. Talk with the world, 2. Powerful features for groups, 3. Bring Skype everywhere.

The Echo Test worked OK, but I haven't figured out how to connect with anyone. The only Skype software I see is in \Users\Dell\Downloads\SKype-BetA.

I'm lost, and would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Where did you download Skype?? in the store or here:
https://www.skype.com/en/get-skype/ ?

BTW: you can get the offline installer from here: https://www.winytips.com/skype-installer-offline-full-setup/
The version is 7.41.0.101 for the "old Style" classic version. The newer one is basically the same as the one from the store and is IMHO crap....

from what you wrote I have to assume you got the beta version. That is most likely the reason why it looks different.
If you have the "right" Skype, the folder in the Program Files(x86) should look like this:

might want to uninstall everything you have that has to do with skype (fortunately MS allows to delete their own App) and get the classic version like in the second link above...

BTW: if you log in your PC with a Microsoft account, Skype is automatically connected to that account. That is why you are not asked to log in...
