SOLVED "Search Windows" not working

The Search Windows box in the task bar shows, but when I type something in it nothing happens.

Yes it’s true some time it happens, all of my staff told me about the problem. But we all think its Pc hang issue.

Hello Nancy and welcome to the forum.
Right click the Start Button and select Control Panel from the context menu.
Top right corner "View by:" drop down and change "Categories" to "Small icons"
Open the "Troubleshooting" icon
Left column select "View all"
Select "Search and indexing" from the list of troublshooters
See if that produces any worthwhile information
