Screen display

Maximizing the screen is not to its fullest. I seem to have a space on the outside and I haven't changed anything. I did not want to start playing with my resolution. What is going on?

Since no 2 computers are exactly the same it is always helpful to have details about the computer in question such as what is the display resolution you have set? What is the maximum and/or the recommended setting? Also, do you see the same issue using Full Screen? Full Screen [toggle with the F11 key] is different from Maximized, gets rid of some Toolbars which can be useful with gaming and movies, etc.
