Hi Wolfie.
I think ,O noble beast of the forests, you have cracked it with the driver update suggestion.
This mouse had given me trouble approx 18 months previously, for totally different reasons.
In it's place I purchased an Rytaki R6, far cheaper than Logitech who are somewhat more pricey all round.
The Rytaki was excellent, but as with a lot of modern gaming mice, they do not last for long.
Therefore, I went back to the current Logitech G500s. Plug and play, drivers being provided no doubt, by Microsoft.
I have downloaded drivers from logitech, as per your suggestion, cannot see them, nevertheless, problem appears to have gone away.
With reference to updates, I appear to have no problems with Microsoft updating, to date. Usual! New update taking 10 to 15 mins and then the usual. A week trying to sort your PC out. Lol.
We will see how it goes, at present the problem has not re-surfaced so far.
