Retrieve files

[Desperate]

I had hardware problem, and an "expert" friend of mine helped fixing it, but in the process he deleted some very, very important apps and files. Is there any way to recover those deleted programs and their contents? Please, HELP!!

There is a chance of recovering some of the data using something like GetDataBack http://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-products.htm
As long as the area of the disk that contained the files has not been overwritten.
It's not free but I think they have a free download that will let you see what it finds and perhaps recover a few megs in the process.
Ideally, you would want to take the drive and of service and perform the data recovery on another computer with the data drive attached peripherally.
