I'm running Windows 10 with 2 hard drives. My "C" drive is a solid state drive (240G) that contains the operating system and some frequently used programs. The "D" drive is a conventional 2TB drive that I use for data and a large number of programs. Some time ago I had to do a system reset and Windows 10 re-install on the "C" drive. I found that most of the programs on the "D" drive had to be re-installed from scratch even though they were unaffected by the reset - I'm thinking that they probably had to be re-registered with the operating system on "C". Does any one know of a slicker way of resurrecting programs from a backup hard drive?
