Hi -

I use Windows 10 for my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and over the years I have had several audio interfaces. I had to install the drivers for these interfaces and once installed they were "plug and play" . I know longer have many of the audio interfaces yet in the drop-down box of the software I use I can still choose that particular driver, although it is not in the device manager or hooked up.

How can I remove the drivers? Where did Windows 10 install them if they are not in the Device Manager? It is not affecting the performance of the software, but it is just annoying to see 10 options in the dropdown box of various software when I am no longer using them.

Thanks

open 'Device Manager'
click on 'View' select 'show hidden devices'
expand your 'Sound, video & game controllers'

look for the faded icons. These indicate unused device drivers.
Right-click on these and select Uninstall.
