I recently got a Dell laptop and I'm setting up for Remote Desktop connection to my desktop PC.
Both are running the same version of Windows Pro (20H2 19042.964) and all updates have been installed.
However, when the desktop window appears on my laptop, only a fraction of the desktop PC's icons show up on the laptop, and when I click on one that does (Quicken, for instance), the app runs as if it is brand new and not initialized, and not using the Quicken data file on the desktop machine.
At work, I did not have this problem working between two Windows Pro desktops (both machines are same screen size and magnification). In my laptop case, the screen sizes are different: 1920x1080 on the desktop (125% magnification) and 3840x2400 (300%) magnification. Could this cause problems?
Also, I am running two displays on the desktop.
Any thoughts on what might be going on, maybe not be setup properly, etc.?
Thanks
