I am running Windows 10 and had my PC turned off for several days. When I turned it back on, the login screen displayed my Local Account login ID and asked for a password. Since my Local Account has no password, I just pressed Enter in the Password box. However, I received the message “Password is Incorrect. Try again.” After clicking OK, the Password Box reappeared with a Password Hint: “White things in the Sky.” I have never set this hint, but I tried entering “clouds” anyway, and still got the incorrect password message.
I then tried holding the Left Shift key and clicking Restart to bring up the Troubleshoot and Advanced Options menu.
However, anything I try to run from Advanced Options requires me to choose an account and enter the password. The account is prefilled with my Local Account, which has no password.
I really have no idea why Windows is now requiring a password. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
