SOLVED Not Printing

Sometimes in the browser or a program, there is a print option - but sometimes it won't print. I must save the file then print it from a list of files under
Documents - or insert the file into my notes program, then I can print it. What do I have set wrong in the software or Windows 10 Pro?

Might check in Devices and Printers that your printer is set as Default and not one of the other choices. Sometimes it has to be clicking File, Print as a print link inside a Web page doesn't know better.

Thanks. I checked and it is set as DEFAULT.

What exactly happens in those instances?
Do you get an error?
Does it get stuck in the print queue?
Can you watch it come into the print queue and then disappear?

Which browser OR all browsers?
Which program(s)?

To clarify a bit.... what file format do you typically find yourself using in these instances (.jpg, .png .pdf .doc .html etc)?

My Printer is "Not set to Default" so that MS can control and I never have a issue with printing. I recommend you remove the check for Default and Let MS handle the options.

I will try removing the default printer. Using EDGE I can go to a financial site and download a statement. The bar above the statement has a printer symble. If I click on it, nothing happens. If I save the file, as a PDF file, then click on the saved file it will print. I am now going to remove the default printer. I removed the default printer and downloaded the same statement. It still does NOT print unless I save as a PDF and print from there.

Is the statement a PDF or word or docx or what is the extension. If I use Edge to open what ever ext i just click print it takes about 3s to turnon my wireless printer and prints.. pdf edge opens with no issue and will print such also. Im sure what ever must have a .ext so your browser knows what convert is need so as to print proper. what if you download and do not save when what is it? . if you do not save/saveas then it is simply a raw info.

Using EDGE

Edge seems to be a bit flaky currently. I just got off the phone with a friend who contributes to church's website (through a web portal) and had been doing so using Edge for months. All of a sudden it stopped working. I suggested he try the same process in Chrome and everything seemed to work as expected.

IDK if it's because of the big push for the about to be released NEW version of Edge (chromium based) which is currently available for BETA testing and if some of that development may be bleeding over, into the current publicly available version of Edge or not.

As @Snuffy mentions above....
Not all Edge users are experiencing the same or even any issues.

My self - I also prefer to save all as WORD. then I can change to BOLD for important documents. which makes them much easier to read.
Then i convert the Word to PDF then print. ordinary .pdf i do not do, but any important financial documents i do and any Major Store Receipts I scan convert BOLD then save as and print... (A friend of mine a Store Manager told me always do, possible Return Items for Warranty do to Stores print so as to have the print disappear - (check some of your receipts)

I have now found that everything is printing fine. Somehow the glitch was fixed and all is well.
