I just purchased a new laptop with Windows 10.

After installing Norton 360 antivirus, Firefox says "server not found" when I try to go to a web page.
Network trouble shooter says There are "missing network protocols and socket registry entries".
I reinstalled my network adapters and reset the winsock catalog and int ip sadly this did not help.

I contacted Norton tech support and they remotely installed the newest version that is supposed to
be compatible with Win 10 however , about 5 min after hanging up the same problems are back.

I would appreciate any help in resolving these issues

I don't know, but I think, if I installed Norton, or any software product for that matter and it broke my computer.....
I'd probably consider uninstalling it, then running the vendor specific proprietary removal tool from here https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us
AND
Consider looking into something else, like the native Defender product and the Windows Firewall to keep me covered for a while until such time as I could find a less troublesome solution.

Hi Redfred77,first off I strongly recommend uninstalling ALL Norton programs (full suite) from your pc using their uninstall utility and then let windows update your Windows Defender antivirus and use that as it's integrated into the OS seamlessly and offers great protection without all the crap the Norton installs in your system.
As well download Malwarebytes free antivirus..this is an on demand scanner and won't interfere with Defender at all.I'm positive that doing what I suggested will rid you of your woe's.
