Probably not. I assume you picked some pictures to use in the screen saver.
It might be that some other setting is conflicting or over-riding the screen saver settings.
Check to see when your monitor is turning off or when your sleep settings or any other power saving options might be scheduled.
I guess it might also be possible that some activity may be occurring in the background that is tricking the system into thinking that there is something going on that should prevent the screen saver from being triggered.
