My PC won't connect to the Ethernet Cable

I recently got a new Ethernet/LAN cable but my PC connects randomly. If I turn off or reset my PC, it won't connect to the Ethernet cable and instead says it's unable to find the IP address.

Why did you get a new Ethernet cable - were you having a connect problem?

Does your computer work properly when it does connect?

Can you try both the old and the new cable on a different computer to see if you can connect reliably?
