It might be just a coincidence.
Yesterday, build 10547 was installed, today system said " repair is needed and will restart afterwards".
Then it said " unable to repair".
I couldn't do system restore because there was no restore point available. I didn't create one. Forgot.
I then tried Reset....... unable to because file missing.
I then tried system image backup....... file corrupted it said.
I then rebooted and it said " missing operating system".
Now I am really busted !
I then popped in the build 10532 bootable DVD and did a clean install, and at 54% it said corrupt files and aborted.
( P. S. it accepts the generic product key. Surprise !).
So, I inserted my Win 8.1 bootable DVD and clean installed. That worked.
Why did it work while bootable 10532 DVD did not? Damned if I know.
I am now in Win 8.1 and Windows Update is downloading Windows 10.
I wonder if I would try switching Win 10 to Insider Preview again since I already have another laptop running Win 10 Home RTM.
