my asus laptop wont allow me to type in my password...

Its been three days that i try to type in my password to log in and it won't let me. no other functions work either. ive tried ctrl+alt+delete and that also doesn't work. when i touch the password box, the screen saver comes down. i cant' even shut it off without pressing the power button. what should i do?
